Variety and Illusion Show — Stage Lighting and Sound

For a touring illusion and variety show on a cultural-centre stage, we installed the lighting and sound the production needed to open its season of performances with magicians, performers and live acts.

Lighting is the illusion

An illusion show lives on what the audience does and does not see. Professional stage lighting hides the auxiliary detail and pulls the eye to the performer’s hands and the moment of the trick, picking out exactly the right action in an otherwise dark hall. Getting there depends on careful placement and tuning of the fixtures — the part of the job that decides whether the effect reads from every seat.

Sound to match

Alongside the lighting, the stage sound system carries music and narration cleanly across the auditorium, cued to the performance.
