EASE Modelling for Halls and Theatres: Accuracy and Best Practices

Room acoustics · Acoustic Delta technical library

EASE modelling gives the design team a predictive view of coverage and intelligibility before loudspeakers are ordered. It is especially valuable in halls and theatres where balconies, side walls and stage geometry can create uneven coverage.

The model uses room geometry, acoustic surface data and manufacturer loudspeaker files to test aiming, height, delays and alternative system layouts. Maps of SPL, STI and arrival time reveal weak areas early enough to change the design.

The deliverable is not just a screenshot: it is a technical decision package with modelling assumptions, coverage maps, loudspeaker coordinates, aiming angles and commissioning values.

Typical deliverables

  • Input data and venue assumptions
  • Technical selection criteria
  • Specification and coordination notes
  • Commissioning and handover checklist
