Sound System Design in Europe: New Contexts in Implementation

Sound equipment · Acoustic Delta technical library

Sound system design starts with the room, not with a loudspeaker list. Geometry, reverberation time and audience zones define the required direct sound, coverage angles, amplifier headroom and the amount of delay or fill loudspeakers required.

Acoustic and electroacoustic calculation allows the design team to predict SPL, STI, direct-to-reverberant ratio and problem seats before installation. This reduces site risk and makes product choice a measurable decision rather than a brand preference.

The final design should include loudspeaker placement, aiming, processing, microphone strategy, cable schedules, rack layout and commissioning notes so the installer can reproduce the design accurately.

Typical deliverables
