Acoustic calculation is the measurement-and-numbers stage of a projekt. We take the room volume, surface areas, seating and finishes and compute reverberation time (RT60) per octave band, expected speech intelligibility (STI / %Alcons), background noise targets (NR / NC) and the absorption area required to reach them. The output is a target, not an opinion: how many square metres of absorption, at which frequencies, and where.
For speech-dominant rooms — classrooms, lecture halls, courtrooms, houses of worship — we work against DIN 18041 and EN ISO 3382 ranges, because an over-live room destroys intelligibility no matter how good the loudspeakers are. For music and multi-use halls we calculate a variable-acoustics strategy so the same room can serve speech and performance.
The calculation also tells the sound-system designer what they are working with: how much gain-before-feedback is realistic, how much direct-to-reverberant ratio the loudspeakers must deliver, and whether the room must be treated before electronics can do their job. This is why calculation comes first and protects the budget downstream.
Deliverables
- RT60 per octave band (existing + target)
- required absorption area by frequency
- STI / intelligibility estimate
- background-noise assessment
- treatment quantities and zoning
- input data for the sound-system design.

Why Acoustic Delta
Acoustic Delta keeps acoustic targets, system design, documentation and zagon in one engineering workflow, so the installed result can be checked against measurable criteria.
